Pixxaro™ EC – Taking on broad-leaved weeds in Ireland

A brand new herbicide based on the innovative active ingredient Arylex™ active, has now been approved for use in Ireland. Pixxaro™ EC is a herbicide for winter and spring cereals bringing control of a spectrum of weeds commonly found by tillage farmers in Ireland.

Also containing fluroxypyr, the tried and trusted active substance in Starane, Pixxaro™ EC offers growers reliable control of a wide spread of broad-leaved weeds across a range of weather conditions and timings.

Our trials suggest that Pixxaro will set new standards for weed control in terms of both flexibility and reliability. In particular, it will deliver robust control on key weeds such as poppy, fumitory, fat hen, cleavers and chickweed”, says Dow AgroSciences National Business Manager William Corrigan.

Pixxaro can be used on all varieties of winter and spring wheat and barley as well as triticale and durum wheat and can be applied from GS13 right up to GS45.

We’ve seen that Pixxaro offers superb multi-way compatibility which means it can be used with a wide range of graminicides and fungicides to reduce the busy spring workload. It all adds up to the one product you really need”, continues Mr Corrigan.

Available in Spring 2017 for Irish growers to try, Pixxaro is the first of a number of innovative products that will be based on Arylex and other applications are being developed globally across a range of crops.
